Favorite Living Room Corner!
This is one of my favorite corners in our apartment. I like to keep our house decor minimal and curated. I love antique home decor, and luckily my mom has been great at keeping all her and my grandmother’s antique items for my sister and me.
This is my favorite sofa yet! It is a copy of the Mario Bellini sofa. I bought the whole set, which you can make into an L shape or separate, as I did in my living room. I’m not going to recommend the sofa place that I bought it from because not only did it take them almost eight months to deliver, but they also have the worst customer service. I love Rove Concepts; they make fantastic Mario Bellini-style sofas, which I will include at the end of this post.
I’m crazy about the vintage African Senufo stools. If I had enough room in our place, I would have more than one. They are handmade and super cute! It took me a minute to find the perfect one because all the antique wooden stools I found were over $500. Believe it or not, I bought this one for less than $60 at a flea market in San Francisco. I purchased the little antique vase from the same flea market too. If you live in the Bay Area, there is a flea market that happens on the first Sunday of each month in Alameda. Honestly, you need to check it out and thank me later! If you plan on going there, get there EARLY to get the best parking spot and be the first to see all the products. Since the Mario Bellini sofa height is low, I thought placing the African Senufo stool next to it was Cute!
The only splurge on this African Senufo stool is the MAD et LEN potpourri. Mad et Len, situated in the picturesque French Alps, seamlessly blends modern ideas of a French perfume atelier with expert blacksmith craftsmanship. This fragrant blend consists of amber resin sediments. It smells divine, and the Spirituelle scent fills up the whole living room. The potpourri is accompanied by a 15-ml refill pipette dropper containing the Spirituelle fragrance. It is crafted in handmade black iron lidded tins, shaped, and burned manually. Each iron container is individually hand-hammered, featuring unique imperfections that contribute to the creation of a one-of-a-kind piece of art.
Step into my cozy corner of nostalgia, right beside the Mario Bellini sofa, where the show’s star is none other than a vintage Japanese teahouse lamp with a history as colorful as its warm glow!
A lamp that once adorned the side table in our living room during my childhood. For some quirky reason, I was always utterly obsessed with it. Fast forward to a few years ago, when my mom traveled to Iran, and, like a magical genie, she brought the lamp back to me. However, time had taken a toll on its bamboo shade, leaving it needing a little TLC, tender loving care. Enter my hero, my husband Matin, with his trusty toolbox. After some tinkering and electric magic, he resolved the wiring issues, and the lamp was ready to shine again. We decided to ditch the shade, letting the teahouse design steal the spotlight. To add a touch of whimsy, we snagged an oversized Edison bulb from Amazon that looks downright adorable.
Now for the grand placement! This lamp deserved more than just an average table. I decided to perch it on the record player, encircled by a carefully curated stack of art and fashion books I’ve gathered throughout the years. The result? It’s a cozy corner that’s not just lit up but tells a tale of memories, travels, and a bit of DIY magic. ✨🏮📚
